Manage projects

Open an existing project, video, or image

Open a file

  1. 1

Click the folder button on the widget, then Browse at the bottom

The normal macOS file picker opens.

The floating ShotGlass widget: a camera button in the dark upper half, a video camera button below it, a gear at the bottom left and a folder at the bottom right
The folder is the small icon at the bottom right.
  2. 2

Pick your file and wait a moment

ShotGlass reads the size, length, audio, and thumbnails first. A long video takes a few seconds.

You should see: The file opens in the video or image editor.

What you get for each file type

You openYou get
.shotglassYour saved project back, with every edit intact
A video fileA new project with that video on the timeline
An image fileA new image project with that image as a layer

Add a file to a project you already have open

  1. 1

Click Uploads in the left rail instead of using Browse

Browse opens a file as its own new project. Uploads adds it to the project you are working on.
